Sheetz Fuel Types Explained
Most Sheetz stations sell several fuel grades, and the names can be confusing at the pump. This table explains what each one is and who it’s for.
| Fuel Type | What It Is | Ethanol Content | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Unleaded 88 (E15) | 88 octane blend, Sheetz’s lower-priced everyday fuel | Up to 15% | Most 2001 and newer gas vehicles (check your owner’s manual) |
| Regular Unleaded (87) | Standard octane | Up to 10% | All gas vehicles |
| Plus / Premium | Higher octane (89 to 93) | Up to 10% | Vehicles that require premium fuel |
| Flex Fuel / E85 | High-ethanol blend | Up to 85% | Flex-fuel vehicles only (FFV badge or yellow gas cap) |
| Ethanol-Free | No ethanol added | 0% | Small engines, boats and classic cars (select stores only) |
| Diesel | Standard diesel | N/A | Diesel engines |
Ethanol-free gas and E85 are only sold at some stations, so find a store near you and confirm before you drive over.
Sheetz Gas Rewards and Discounts
There are a few ways to pay less per gallon at Sheetz:
- MySheetz Rewardz: scan the free Sheetz app or rewards card at the pump to get cents off per gallon. Points you earn inside the store, whether on a morning latte or a sandwich, can be redeemed too.
- Sheetz credit cards: the Sheetz Visa and Sheetz Personal Credit Card, issued through First National Bank of Omaha (FNBO), add a per-gallon discount on Sheetz fuel. Approval is credit-based.
- Limited-time promotions: Sheetz regularly runs holiday deals, such as cents off Unleaded 88.
Paying at the Pump
Sheetz pumps accept major credit and debit cards, the Sheetz app, and Apple Pay or Google Pay at most updated locations. Gift cards usually work at pumps that support app or QR payment, but not at older card-reader-only pumps. If you’d rather not leave the car after fueling, many stores also let you order food at the drive thru.

What is Sheetz Unleaded 88?
Unleaded 88 is an 88-octane blend with up to 15% ethanol (E15) that Sheetz sells for less than regular unleaded. It’s approved for most 2001 and newer gasoline vehicles, but check your owner’s manual first.
What is the difference between Sheetz 87 and 88 gas?
87 is standard regular unleaded with up to 10% ethanol. 88 (Unleaded 88, or E15) contains up to 15% ethanol and is usually a few cents cheaper per gallon.
Is Sheetz gas top tier?
Sheetz isn’t widely promoted as a TOP TIER licensed brand. For the current list of licensed retailers, check the official TOP TIER station finder.

Some Sheetz stations sell ethanol-free fuel, but not every store has it. Availability depends on each station’s pumps, so check your local store before a trip that needs it.
Does Sheetz have flex fuel (E85)?
Yes, at select locations. E85 is only meant for flex-fuel vehicles (FFVs), and it shouldn’t be used in a regular gas engine.
Does Sheetz sell diesel?
Yes. Diesel is available at most Sheetz stations, usually alongside the standard gasoline grades.
How do I use Sheetz rewards at the pump?
Scan your Sheetz app or rewards card at the pump before you start fueling, and any available per-gallon discount is applied automatically. The same scan inside the store earns points on snacks and sides as well.
Can I use Apple Pay at Sheetz gas pumps?
Most updated Sheetz pumps accept Apple Pay and Google Pay. Older pumps without upgraded card readers may not, so keep a physical card or the Sheetz app as a backup.
Does Sheetz have a gas discount card?
